The World War II Letters of Paul Van Roekel
My father, Paul Van Roekel, flew thirty-five combat missions as a navigator in B-17s in World War II. During that time he wrote fifty-eight letters to his family.
After Dad died in 1982, I found these letters. I laboriously typed them into my early personal computer, printed and hand-bound them at my kitchen table. I gave them out to my family.
In 2005, I further edited the letters and created a web version. Click the button below to see it.
